Mr Isaya Yeremia Mnangwone has been appointed to the position of Plantation Operations Manager for Tanga Forest Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Green Resources AS. He was born in 1950 and is married with one child. Mr. Mnangwone holds a BSc. degree in Forestry attained from the University of Dar es Salaam in 1977 and an MSc degree in Forestry from the same university granted in 1983.
Mr Mnangwone has worked in various capacities in the Forestry and Beekeeping Division of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, including being Head of the Strategic Analysis and Planning Unit, Assistant Director of Research, Training and Statistics, Principal Forest Industries Training Institute Moshi and twice the Principal Forestry Training Institute Olmotonyi. Mr Mnangwone was the acting Director of Forestry and Bee keeping Division from June 2005 to February2006.
As head of Strategic Analysis and Planning Unit (under FBD) he pioneered the development of PFM guidelines to harmonize its implementation and also formulated the Criteria and Indicators for sustainable forest management in Tanzania. Mr Mnangone also played the key role in building a strong middle level forestry training in the country through his work at the Forest Industries Training Institute, Moshi and the Forestry Training Institute Olmotonyi. He brings to Green Resources 33 years of experience in forest management.
Green Resources has just completed its most successful first half year planting ever, planting more than 4,000 ha of new forest. The company employs close to 4,000 people.
