Maria Spink (MSc), Lyra in Africa, produced a thesis entitles "Seeing like an INGO - Observations from a company perspective on “land-grabbing” forestry projects in East Africa". The thesis was submitted for contribution to her Masters in African Politics, from School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London).

The study used two empirical case studies, one of twhich was GRL’s Idete plantation, to investigate if INGOs oversimplify complex realities in developing countries by selecting truths for their arguments, whilst disregarding the full picture.

The full study is available here: Seeing like an INGO - Maria Spink (MSc).pdf
